HIPLI - the impact in figures

Main results of the LCA

Out of 100 orders:

  1. The HIPLI package has a lower environmental impact than the 100% recycled cardboard package:

    • Small format: -75% of impacts (single score) and -77% of carbon footprint
    • Large format: - 76% of impacts (single score) and - 83% of carbon footprint

Assumptions: 10% of Hipli parcels end up in the trash without being recycled and cardboard parcels made from 100% recycled material and produced in Europe.

  2. The HIPLI package has a lower impact than the 100% virgin cardboard package used twice:

    • Small format: -68% of impacts (single score) and -69% of carbon footprint

    • Large format: -69% of impacts (single score) and -71% of carbon footprint

Assumptions: 10% of Hipli packages end up in the trash without being recycled and blank cardboard packages, produced in Europe and reused by individuals for personal shipments (Leboncoin, Vinted, etc.)

  3. The HIPLI package has a lower environmental impact than a plastic envelope produced in Europe

    • Small format: -19% of impacts (single score) and -31% of carbon footprint
    • Large format: -25% of impacts (single score) and -44% of carbon footprint

(yes the plastic envelope has less impact than cardboard, which is mainly due to the weight)

  4. The Hipli package has a lower environmental impact than a box:

    • Small format: from the third use
    • Large format: from the second use.

    Assumptions: blank cardboard.

  5. In the case of a loss rate of 0% for the HIPLI package, the HIPLI package has less impact than the 100% recycled kraft paper envelope, which is no longer the case with a loss rate of 10% (tipping point: 6%)
